Brian Kennaugh joined Hunter Financial Planning in July 2009 as CEO. Brian commenced his financial planning career in 1983 and after various senior management roles in a number of industries is delighted to bring all that experience to HFP. Brian holds a Bachelor of Business which he completed at the University of Newcastle.
Up until January 2016 Brian was a Pro Chancellor and a member of the Council of the University of Newcastle. He was also the President of the Executive Committee of the Alumni for the University of Newcastle for 4 years and is well known across the city's business community. Brian is currently a Top of the Table Member of the Million Dollar Round Table and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Director / Senior Adviser
Philip is a Financial Adviser with over thirteen years experience in the Financial Services industry dealing with a range of clients.
Before joining Hunter Financial Planning, Philip was employed by another Financial Planning firm for five years. He was also employed by PricewaterhouseCoopers in the Taxation/Accounting Division. Philip has completed the Diploma of Financial Planning, obtained his Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Newcastle and is currently a top of the table member of the Million Dollar Round Table.

Michael joined Hunter Financial Planning in October 2009. In 2007, Michael graduated from the University of Newcastle with a Bachelor of Business. He has continued his studies since joining Hunter Financial Planning, by completing a Diploma of Financial Services and is close to completing his Advanced Diploma of Financial Services.
Michael's role includes providing holistic advice to clients, supporting the Senior Advisers in creating plans and strategies, and assisting with training of new staff.

Howard joined the team here at Hunter Financial Planning from the Newcastle Permanent in May 2014 and brings with him over 5 years experience in the Financial Services industry.
Originally from the UK, Howard worked as a Mortgage Consultant for Nationwide Building Society in London. Howard has a strong client focus and is looking forward to demonstrating this.
Howard has completed the Diploma of Financial Planning, and hopes to go on to complete the Advanced Diploma of Financial Planning.
Outside of work, Howard is an avid rugby fan and plays rugby for the University of Newcastle.

Amy joined the team here at Hunter Financial Planning in April 2016 and brings with her 15 years’ experience in the Financial Planning industry.
Amy completed a Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning) in 2005, a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance in 2009 and is currently completing her Masters of Financial Planning. Amy plans on becoming a Certified Financial Planner in the near future. Amy's role includes providing technical and research support to staff and clients alike and assisting the Senior Advisers in creating plans and strategies.
Outside of work Amy enjoys boating, water-skiing, running, travelling and spending time with her husband and two young children. Amy is also a passionate autism advocate and is a volunteer public speaker for Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect).
Jess joined the team at Hunter Financial Planning in May 2014 as a Client Implementation Administrator.
With two years of experience in a similar role, Jess already had a good understanding of the Financial Industry and moved into a Trainee Strategy Specialist position within the team. Jess has since completed her Diploma and Advanced Diploma of Financial planning and has gone on to become the Team Leader of the Strategy Specialists.
Outside of work, Jess enjoys playing netball, travelling with her partner and spending time with her friends and family.
Taylor joined the Hunter Financial Planning team in February 2015 in the position of Trainee Paraplanner.
Since completing the HSC in 2012, Taylor has gained 2 years of industry experience which has stimulated her desire to become a Financial Planner. Taylor is completing her Diploma of Financial Planning and hopes to go on to complete the Advanced Diploma.
Outside of work Taylor enjoys spending time with family and friends, keeping fit and living a happy, healthy life.
Brittany has been a part of the Hunter Financial team since July 2012. Starting in Administration as the Receptionist for HFP, Brittany then moved on to an Implementation Role for two years, before joining the Paraplanning team as a Trainee Paraplanner.
Brittany has studied Japanese for over 9 years and has been to Japan five times. She hopes to one day live and work there.
Apart from Japan, her second favourite country is India.
Here, Brittany spent days travelling through the Indian desert to arrive and volunteer at an Ashram where she assisted in providing food and clean water to local villagers. Her greatest goal in life is to travel the world, especially the Arctic where she wishes to see the Northern Lights.
Her creativity and motivation make her a much appreciated team member, which combined with her eagerness to provide superior customer service make her a perfect fit for HFP.
Josh joined Hunter Financial Planning in June 2017 as part of the strategy specialist team, after previously working in an operations management role for five years.
Josh has completed his Diploma of financial planning and is excited to begin his advanced Diploma in September 2017 with the hopes to become a financial planner once his study is complete.
Outside of work, Josh enjoys taking his dog for walks and spending time with his wife either through holiday adventures or renovating their home.
Renee has been an employee of Hunter Financial for more than five years and has worked her way up to the position of Office Manager. Prior to this, Renee spent two years working in administration at a local accounting firm. Renee enjoys a challenge and loves that no two days in the office are the same.
Her passion is photography and renovating houses with her husband, these hobbies allow Renee to show her creative side.
With her experience in the industry and knowledge of financial matters, Renee has the ability to explain complex issues and make them simple to understand, which both clients and colleagues value.
Natalie joined Hunter Financial Planning in June 2015, after previously working in the banking industry for two years.
After completing her Bachelor of Business, Natalie decided to continue her tertiary studies with her Masters in Business Administration.
Outside of work, Natalie is an enthusiastic runner who enjoys taking advantage of the scenic running trails Newcastle has to offer.
Liz has recently returned to the team at Hunter Financial Planning as a Client Implementation Administrator after 12 months Maternity Leave.
She began her administrative career with an Insurance Broker in Halifax, England after which she moved to New Zealand and worked as Branch Administrator for 4 years. Liz was drawn to the beautiful Newcastle area and surrounds and all it has to offer and decided to set down roots here. In 2010 Liz was thrilled to be given the opportunity to join the team at Hunter Financial Planning.
Liz enjoys nature walks and exploring the flora and fauna of the Australian coast and bushland with her family.
Liz adds the typical British sense of humour to HFP's work days and has the ability to find quick solutions for difficult situations, while still achieving the best results.
Maddie joined the team at HFP in April 2016, coming from a local Community Preschool, where she taught for 10 years. Maddie has a bright and bubbly personality, she loves a challenge and is excited to be a part of our vibrant team.
Outside of HFP, Maddie loves to travel and has spent time living abroad in Canada.
She has recently renovated her first home with her partner. Being a keen enthusiast of health and keeping fit, Maddie enjoys exercising and going on bike rides, as well as spending time with family and friends.
Jess joined the Hunter Financial team in November 2016 returning from maternity leave with her second child.
With over 13 years experience in the Insurance Industry, Jess has worked in both underwriting and insurance broking.
Jess is a local girl who enjoys playing social netball and catching up with friends and family. When she is not at work she spends her time with her husband and two children.
Kristin joined Hunter Financial Planning team in August 2016 as our Receptionist. Kristin moved to Australia from the US a year ago where she previously worked in Human Resources for 3 years.
She has settled into living in Australia and really loves it here. She hopes to do more traveling and explore the country.
Outside of work Kristin enjoys finding new hiking trails and coffee shops on the weekends. She loves baking and balances that with a group training fitness class during the week. Kristin loves people and she’s excited to be part of the team here at HFP.
Tara joined the team at Hunter Financial Planning in October 2014 after time away from the workforce raising her two children.
Tara has an accounts and administration background and loves being part of a team.
Tara is a Lake Macquarie local who loves spending time with her extended family. Tara likes to keep busy and loves to cook, often entertaining family and friends. She plays competitive netball and spends a lot of time at activities for her children. When everything is done at the end of the day
Tara likes nothing better than reading a book with a glass of wine.
Laura joined the team at Hunter Financial Planning in May 2017 as our Receptionist.
Moving to Newcastle from Sydney, Laura was looking for a change of industry and lifestyle. With two years of experience in an administrative role in the building and construction industry, she is excited to take on a stimulating role at HFP and be a part of such an encouraging team.
Laura is currently completing her Diploma in Business Administration and hopes to go on to study Leadership and Management.
